Take a look at the Cuisinart CPC-600, The Nesco PC6-25P and the Fagor 670040230 and find out which is the not only a great value but offers the most features for the price. Each can be found online priced from $70 to $120 but what are you actually getting for your money.
Shopping is not as simple as it used to be. There were at one time very limited choices for every item made.
Today there are hundreds to choose from. Well this is one time you are indeed in luck I recently had to purchase a new pressure cooker. I was not sure if I wanted a standard or electric at first but when I looked over what was being offered I decided on electric.
I looked at quite a few and finally narrowed it down to the following three choices. I would like to share with you the comparisons I made to narrow it down to my final choice. I hope that my hard work will save you a lot of time.

If you are like me these are the features that are of the most importance when you want to use electric pressure cookers. All of the above appliances have practically the same features. All boast that the lids are the lock tight variety and that the handles and lids will stay cool to the touch. Each has the same capacity and can be used to cook a wide range of food items.
With the Cuisinart I found a few reviews that said some things that made it the best choice for me. One was something you can’t find in the stores review of any product and that is how the pot actually performs in the kitchen. A Cuisinart owner said the magic words, “searing the meat right in the pressure cooker”; this means less dishes to wash and makes it truly one pot cooking at its best.
The Cuisinart CPC-600 also has a lower PDI setting that will allow you to make custards and other desserts in half the time. This sounded like a major plus for this pressure cooker but I also must make note that the other two makes the same claim.
After looking at the reviews by customers for all the brands they seem to each have loyal customers who are happy with their product. This tells me that buying either is a safe bet.
Now that brings us to aesthetics. Each of these brands offers a cooker in brushed stainless steel. They each come with removable non-stick inner cooking pots that can be washed by hand or in the dishwasher.
They all have browning, warming and cooking settings, although the Cuisinart has preprogrammed settings that cannot be overridden. It does have enough settings that you can cook most any dish for any length of time. The Nesco and the Fargo are both programmable and that just might give them the edge with some home chefs.
The Fagor 670040230 is the only one that comes with its own recipe booklet. This can be a great help to cooks who haven’t had much practice in the kitchen. While it is a great incentive it is not something that is likely to influence the final decision. One thing that will make a pretty big difference is if the pressure cooker can be preset to turn itself on. The answer is yes for all except the Cuisinart it does not allow you to set it ahead of time. With the hectic schedules most people have this is a feature that would make the item even more desirable.
Boths Nesco PC6-25P and Fagor have an 8 hour delay timer that is fully programmable.
As with any product you will find some negative reviews. Even the strictest quality control standards may miss something once in a great while. Unfortunately it is these exceptions to the rule that get the most attention. You can have 100 reviews for a single product. If five of them are bad those are the ones remembered most. When looking to buy the best electric pressure cookers keep this in mind. Thought you see five bad points there are 95 satisfied customers.
Choosing either of these electric pressure cookers would be a pretty good buy from a features standpoint. As it stands the one or two features that are different aren’t ones that will not curtail your efforts to create great meals. It will come right down to your personal preference in the end and brand recognition.
